How Faber J. Rheder became captive to the Tarantula's influence

I hold deep respect for the original versions of the covers I've produced, such as The Cure's 'Lullaby' or Alice Cooper's 'Poison.'

However, as a cover artist, I take immense pride in crafting about a dozen versions spanning various styles – from Bass House and Electronic Downtempo to Deep House, Orchestral, Cinematic, and Trap.

After years of dedication, I'm thrilled to close this chapter initiated in 2014 with the Rock demo of 'Poison.' Now, these renditions are divided among three EPs: 'Tarantula,' 'Lullaby (The Mixes),' and 'Poison (The Versions),' exclusively available on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

The creative process, transitioning into production, can be intricate, especially for 'Poison' and 'Lullaby.'

The spider's web and the snake's venom (symbols from The Cure and Alice Cooper videos) truly ensnared and, if not poisoned, certainly hypnotized me – much like a cobra can.

This led to the creation of original tracks like 'Killer Geisha,' 'Thriller My Scares,' 'The Flames Sanctuary,' and 'Dylan Dog,' alongside covers like 'Beds Are Burning' by Midnight Oil and 'Somebody' and 'Sister of Night' by Depeche Mode, culminating in the 'Tarantula' LP-Album.

This will be exclusively available for Bandcamp subscribers, catering to the closest fans, and providing a platform to share not just musical content, but a deeper understanding of the artist.

After all, an artist aims to communicate, not necessarily to be understood by everyone."

So pride, I share “The Flames Sanctuary,” a song that explores the balance between ego and awareness of talent.
Personally, I navigate the line between ego and self-awareness by maintaining a consciousness of my limitations and overcoming them...
Such is the case with “The Flames Sanctuary.”

In 1991, I composed and produced “The Flames Sound,” the opening track of my debut album “Music Violence.” This song was a funeral march of my newly formed group, “The Flames,” just two years prior 😬 Unusual way to kick off the debut album. 🎶

The pure energy of that era marked a 360-degree shift, extinguishing the flames of the past and initiating a complete transformation from Rock to Techno Acid blended with Electronic music.

Today, I am thrilled to present its evolution:

🚀 The Flames Sanctuary (2023) is the same journey through time - the same track now reimagined in an orchestral style reminiscent of a Batman soundtrack.
The opening of my new EP, “Tarantula.”

Now, expressing pride in my track that I’ve written—music and lyrics—produced, arranged, and coordinated like an orchestra conductor.

Am I being realistic, or do you see it as egocentric? 🎶🤔

Give it a listen and let me know your thoughts! 🎧

About 10 years ago, the idea of covering Alice Cooper’s “Poison” struck me. Since then, I envisioned a sweet and melancholic version of this iconic song. During production, surprisingly, I steered towards a style that could have easily accompanied a Christmas perfume commercial, rather than recreating Alice Cooper’s original hard rock version.

My journey began in a recording studio in Barcelona, where I recorded a rock demo as a starting point. From there, I started to “muck around with everything,” experimenting and trying to capture the unique essence I had in mind. Two years ago, I released a Deep House version, jealously preserving my orchestral interpretation, hoping to enhance it over time.

Finally, this Xmas, I unveil “Poison (Orchestral),” performed by Big Tia and arranged together with Sebastian G. This version continues a parallel line in my discography, alternating between electronic and more “Classical” music, played with the piano or with a more Cinematic/Soundtrack or Orchestral style, a direction I embarked on last year with “Autunno [EP]and this year with “Inverno” [EP].

I hope this new interpretation resonates with you and conveys the intense emotions that guided me in its creation. Share your thoughts, and expect something special this Xmas!

"Unraveling Artistry: Navigating the Web of Creativity with the dark side of FJR 🕸️🎶📸"

No more cobwebs 🕸️, snakes 🐍, tarantulas 🕷️!

When shaping a project, one should be careful about what they wish for. I've truly gotten more entangled than intended 😬. It's the immense production material that keeps accumulating, considering that I don't just focus on the musical aspect 🎶🎸🥁 but extend into the visual creation of photos 📸 and videos 📹, and coordination... 😤.

As they say here in Spain, "I am human," and even though I've felt a bit frustrated for not sticking to my preset timelines, I'm proud to see them through 🙌.

A "like" 👍 would be appreciated if you can appreciate the perspective of an "indie" (an independent artist who self-produces without the backing of a production house or a record label)...

Or why not? Criticize them 🤔, as it's always a form of interest and honesty that can help me progress 🏎️.

Projects completed: Poison✅, Lullaby✅, Tarantula✅, now onto turning the page 😍."

THE STORY

The Cure VS Alice Cooper

Faber J. Rheder produces two covers of the most dark and most beloved artists: The Cure and Alice Cooper. The songs are "Lullaby" and "Poison" both originally produced in 1989.

Faber J. Rheder has long wanted to fuse the original soul melodies of these rock songs in a dark electronic style.

"Lullaby" has been produced in 2020 where FJR combines the main vocal of a famous rock singer ( Rock Mysterious Singer who wants remains anonymous for legal exclusive reasons) with the rapper King Marino who give an extraordinary energy to the cover.

The "original version" is in Bass House produced in collaboration with Raxer Sound, while " On Your Mind Version" has a darker electronic sound inspired by Kaskade and co-produced with Fu-Kuu where Faber J. Rheder is reflected in evolution of the dark side of The Cure.

"Lullaby" will be available soon with four unreleased versions on Bandcamp only for fans.

"Poison" is another track that FJR has recorded some demos long time ago and then abandoned because dissatisfied with the sound even he has recorded the videoclip with Sandy San (2015).

As with The Cure it must not have been easy to produce anone of the most iconic Alice Cooper success, but, in 2021 Faber J. Rheder produces severals versions of "Poison" ft Big Tia. At the moment only one is released in deep house style. The others will be released for fans in Bandcamp this year.
